Advance Battlefield IoT with 5G :
Booz Allen Hamilton (BAH) and Armaments Research Company, Inc. (ARC) have established a cooperation to test the effectiveness of ARC’s weapons sensing data on BAH’s 5G-enabled network. In order to improve soldiers’ performance on and off the battlefield, BAH was previously given the Joint Base Lewis-McChord 5G-Enabled Extended Reality (XR) contract.
Through this project, BAH is able to scale, prototype, and improve Internet-of-Things (IoT), XR, and military-specific applications. Ground force commanders have access to ARC’s AI-powered tactical weapons sensor, which securely gathers and analyses crucial battlefield and troop performance data to provide a more comprehensive shared operating picture to support decision-making.
When used in tandem, these systems enable the US Defense to advance machine-to-machine capability by providing the warfighter with curated, timely engagement data.
“This partnership will help reveal what’s conceivable as the Army considers new approaches to gaining overmatch in future conflict. The collective creativity across the Army, BAH, and ARC teams thus far has inspired a more ambitious vision of scale for this combined solution”, “This project represents the forefront of a true leveling up of our nation’s military.”
