Through this partnership, Sterling’s more than 45 years of background screening experience and Yoti’s cutting-edge identity verification technology are combined. The international alliance will increase Sterling’s digital identity capabilities in EMEA and APAC and forward its goal of developing candidate portable identities that prioritise privacy.
The partnership between Sterling and Yoti will make it possible to integrate a unique workflow for digital identity verification directly into the hiring process, enabling employers to take an identity-first approach in which a candidate’s identity is verified before any background checks are completed and before they are actually hired. This improves pre-employment verifications, lessens or eliminates the need for paper records, and streamlines the hiring and onboarding process for both employers and candidates.
Additionally, candidates will be able to easily build a secure, reusable digital identity after having their identification verified by Yoti and Sterling. This will simplify the verification process for both employers and candidates by enabling them to confirm their identification just once and quickly share their information with other companies.
